hotel colosseoThe Colosseum or Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre.  Just east of the Roman Forum, the ampitheatre was the largest of its kind of the Roman Empire.  This is an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome and just one look at it, you will feel the enduring spirit of the eternal city, Rome.

We were very lucky to get a hotel near the Colosseum, as it offers us a beautiful view of the landmark.  Further, it was within close vicinity to most of the famous spots of ancient Rome.  The metro was likewise around 5 minutes walk away, so it was easy to commute to the Vatican City and other parts of Rome.  The ticket to the Colosseum is a combined one for a entry to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.  It is good for two days, although you can actually go through the places within 3-4 hours.  Or…
