Temple of Venus and Roma

Part of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill visit…

Travel Tales of a Yogini

Upon entering the entrance of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, I was immediately drawn to these columns and found out that this was part of the Temple of Venus and Roma, thought to have been the largest temple of Ancient Rome.  Located on the Velian Hill, between the easter edge of the Roman Forum and Colosseum, it was dedicated to the goddesses Venus Felix (Venus, the Bringer of Good Fortune) and Roma Aeterna (Eternal Rome).

From the hill, we also had a spectacular view of the Colosseum, and gave us ideas on having photography fun.
